We have just released SongKong 11.9.1, this bug fix release fixes two recently discovered important issues
Fix Songs Update Metadata Only Bug
There is a serious issue with Fix Songs updating already matched tracks if existing tracks already matched to MusicBrainz album but missing the MB Track Id field. All tracks matched by SongKong should always have an Mb Track Id field but if it has been removed or the original MusicBrainz matching was done by another application that matches to MusicBrainz, adds MusicBrainz ids but does not add the Mb Track Id this could cause a problem with all tracks in the release being updated to the first track.
This new release fixes the issue but does not automatically fix any albums broken by the bug so recommended fix is as follows:
- Install new version
- Run Status Report (Not Fix Songs Report) over your music
- Check the MusicBrainz Inconsistencies tab
- And underneath check the One Song Matched tab
This will show albums where only one song has been matched, this will show all the albums affected by the bug, but it can also shows unrelated cases where you genuinely only have one track so need to check further.
For each album listed:
- Double check by selecting album link
- See if only track 1 is matched
- Select the folder and see if all files in folder have been matched to track 1, if so this is example of bug
- Use the Copy button to copy the folder name containing the files
- Then for such folder listed run Fix Songs with option set to Rematch to fix the album.
When done then in Fix Songs set option back to Update Metadata Only to reseume normal operation.
e.g
Lists one album that only only has one track matched
If we select it we see it has only matched track 1
and if we select the folder containing that track we see all files in the folder have been matched to the same track
Report Incomplete if Disabled Discogs or MusicBrainz matching
In Fix Songs if Search for MusicBrainz Match or Search for Discogs Match is disabled then the report will not be created correctly and be missing section
