Potential improvements to Duplicate Checker

Hi Paul, I thought I would write up some ideas into the end of the year wishlist
For the Duplicates Module:
As a (former) user of DupeGuru Music it would be great to see the following two improvements in the Duplicate Checker:

1. Define several folders as source and several folders as reference
   References is typically your existing collection, nothing is deleted there
   Source could be new data / music coming in
   The idea is to give preference to existing rather than new
2. In order of priority delete songs and folders with (x) in the name when a duplicate for them is found
   The current feature doesnt seem to distinguish, leaving folders and files with (x) around
   I currently manually fix this with Bulk Rename Utility, and then delete the resulting _1 files if duplicates remain. Crude workaround.

Hi, please take a look at Tutorial:Delete Duplicates, Advanced Options

1. Can be done by making Earliest Folder Creation Date or Earliest File Creation Date as the highest preferred criteria.

2. Can be done by making Original Filename the preferred criteria.

Of course you may not want to make top criteria because if you have original files in lossy mp3 format and new files in lossless flac you probably want to keep the flac files.

This is why it is a ordered list of criteria that SongKong will traverse until it finds a difference so it Can determine which file to delete.

So I do think these requests are already covered, if you can think of a reason why they don’t happy to listen.
