We have a new release of Jaikoz with some important improvements for Classical releases, and some important fixes.

Classical Improvements

There are a number of improvements to the algorithm to correctly identify Movements, Works and Opera Works, this is discussed in some detail here. If your music collection contains a sizeable Classical these improvements will significantly improve the Movement and Work fields added especially fo rmulti level work pieces such as Operas.

Force retrievel direct from MusicBrainz

Already when using Action/Match to Album/Match Songs to Specified MusicBrainz Album if you specify a MusicBrainz release that is not yet in Albuanck Jaikoz would retrieve it directly from MusicBrainz. But now you can force it to be retrieved from MusicBrainz for those situations where the release is already in Albunack, but the MusicBrainz release has aditional edits that are not yet in Albunack. We have also fixed direct retrieval so that now its gets all levels of Works.

I am testing this, and have come across one anomaly. Jaikoz 12.6 is setting the “Grouping” field to “Classical” for one of my classical albums. I have set options for Opera work format to Lyrion and “Copy Work to Grouping field” to “no”. I looked in “Never modify these fields”, but “grouping” does not appear in that list.

(This is one which was formerly a false positive for Opera work detection, but is now being correctly detected.)

Sounds like it is because it copying Discogs Genre or Style to Grouping field, what do you have Remote Correct:Discogs:Grouping set to?

It’s set to “Never Alter”.
