can't start Jaikoz

Hi,

I just installed Jaikoz 2.2.1-1041 for the first time on my XP machine, and got
the same error about settings.jai as “trallala”.

I’ve tried to delete settings.jai, but it does not help; it just gets recreated.

To me, it looks like some kind of XML parsing error.

I have Java version 1.6.0_03-b05.

Regards,
Olle

Follow-up to my own post:

I also tried after upgrading Java to 1.6.0_04-b12, but it did’nt help.

also just installed java & jaikoz & got settings.jai error

invalid content starting with ‘check2’ no child element expected

trying to see if latest java will help. though i installed java as part of the first install of jaikoz.

ok, new java install did update version from
build 1.6.0_02-b06 to build 1.6.0_03-b05

but got the same error trying to start jaikoz for the first time.

will try to delete the settings.jai file to see if that has any effect
actually will mv to settings.jai.bad

ok,

same situation as the folks above - reinstalled, upgraded java, moved settings.jai - and still get the same error.

no joy.

Ive now tested it against the 1.5.0_13 Mac update, and it is working fine so Im must admit Im a bit stumped at the moment. In think the problem is related to the environemnt (os, java version) and for the technical amongst you is related to JAXB, but Im havent been able to pin it down.

Paul,

I’m running on XP MCE with the latest java & jaikoz downloaded today.

what other info can I provide?

I also just installed jaikoz on a vista ultimate box & got settings.jai error:

invalid content starting with ‘check2’ no child element expected

I confirmed I have the latest java also.

So I’m seeing this same error on xp mce & vista ultimate. looks like others are seeing same on mac.

Team,

there’s a similar report on the issues forum.

I uninstalled 2.2.1 and successfully downloaded (from download.com) and installed and ran v2.2.0 build 1039 on vista and on xp.
